 2009-2010 Annual Fund

In 1995, MSS started with just seven children and one Montessori teacher –– and a vision of Montessori education for elementary children in Syracuse. Now, only fifteen years later, we have 150 students, a beautiful 10-acre campus with gardens, nature trails, a primary playground, and a 50-acre Land Laboratory. We have Montessori teachers as well as instructors in French, fitness, music, art, Algebra, and Great Books. We have beautiful cottages and classrooms and we have CARE programs to accommodate all schedules. We serve students from 24 school districts, and our graduates attend colleges from Cornell to Williams, from Villanova to Georgetown.  In addition to regular listings on their school's honor roles, our graduates have received more awards and commendations that we can't begin to list here, in a wide range of disciplines.  Please help us to continue to provide high quality Montessori education to Central New York!

A Message from our Annual Fund Chairman

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Montessori School of Syracuse, and you are invited to take part in celebrating this milestone in a variety of ways:

· Attend our family gatherings like the Harvest Fest, Peace Celebration, and Cultural Festival.

· Join us for our adult gatherings like the BBQ in October and our Spring Gala in May.

· Volunteer in one of our classrooms and be a part of the learning taking place.

· Celebrate this important milestone by giving generously to our Annual Fund.

As the father of Audrey and Ben, students in Birch and Evergreen classrooms, it is my pleasure to chair the MSS Annual Fund for the third year.  This is the “meat and potatoes” of our fundraising efforts, and it closes the gap between tuition and the actual cost of an MSS education.  Families of current and former students, alumni, and friends contributed $40,000 to our school last year, with a 70% participation rate!  This year our fundraising goal is 100% participation.

My children are the center my life, and I’m sure yours are, too!  For five years my wife, Wendy, and I have entrusted their learning to MSS.  We know how much the teachers and staff care about each and every child at the school.  We hope you feel the same way and will join us in celebrating our 15th anniversary by making the MSS Annual Fund your top priority.

Many thanks in advance for your support.
